For The Love of Birds

I have always had an attraction to bird inspired fabrics and wallpaper. Why not give your rooms something to sing about?

Back to the Books

Today is the first day back to school  and in celebration I am sharing images of books that inspire me. On Monday, my daughter and I spent the day in Charlotte back-to-school shopping. Her favorite stop, Anthropologie, was styled to the rafters with book art. J. Crew also had some neat displays with the books shelved backwards. I love the instant character and charm shelves of books bring to a room. I have presented my favorite book images today that evoke Old School Charm and scream warmth and character.

A Nod to the Simple Boxwood

With the start of school this Wednesday comes the promise of fall! Fall is my favorite time of year and  a great time to plant bushes and trees. I love living in the South and experiencing the changes of the seasons. I am craving the cool fall breezes and changing colors of the leaves. I look forward to spending time in the garden and replanting the urns that grace my front door. I have selected some of my favorite images of boxwood to share with you today. The simple boxwood adds style without even trying. They look great in containers, window boxes and simply smashing in an English garden. I hope to one day to have a boxwood parterre.

Over the Moon for Suzanne Kasler

I came home from the Hickory Chair warehouse yesterday over the moon for Suzanne Kasler. The sale alone had my adrenaline pumping beyond measure but it was seeing her Hickory Chair collection in person that sent me over the moon. Pieces gathered from the Hickory Chair showroom floor decked in graphic prints. Oh my!

When I returned home still energized from from little shopping spree, I pulled out my Kasler inspiration file and came across these lovely images of Suzanne at work in her Atlanta offices. Just a day late to be included in my designers and the desk post so I thought I would post as this addendum. They first appeared in Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles magazine, one of my very favorite resources.

Designers and the Desk

Wouldn't it be fun to peek inside your favorite designer's office? This collection of images represents a wide range of styles and spaces. Some images are of designer's real work spaces and others are spaces they created for others. As I am sure it is with all the images we gather from shelter magazines, some of these spaces are functional, living, breathing, working spaces while others are mere symbols of an office presented to the public eye. I adore Jenna Lyons space. The inspiration collage speaks to me. Which space most appeals to you?
