It is so rare these days to flip through the real estate listings and find a real heirloom property for sale. I recently stumbled upon this lovely estate, and it took my breath away. It is located in the historic Myers Park area in Charlotte, a stones throw away from the church where I got married.
I have always been intrigued with historic houses and the real estate market in general.
You will often hear someone describe a house as having 'good bones'. I think this house is a great example of a house with good bones. In most cases, the 'good bones' description is a term of endearment used to describe a historic relic past its prime that once-upon-a-time was grand. (I like those kinda' houses, too.) No crystal ball needed here to see this home's old world elegance. The main level has 11' foot ceilings and the upstairs 10' ceilings. I love the period lighting, mantels and mirrors. The paint colors are so soft and pretty, and there is something so fresh about the bleached, raw wood floors. One of the first things I look for when I am looking to buy a house is how much natural light the house gets. I am not sure if this house would actually qualify as having a 'southern exposure' as I am not sure if this house is oriented to the South but you can tell from the photography that this house's large windows flood the interiors with sunlight.
I thought you might enjoy drooling over my discovery! For more, visit the real estate listing here.
