Tickled Pink {and blue}

Everybody is talking about PINK!

Personally, I love pink and always have! My favorite color combination {of the moment} is pink in combination with blue. One of my most favorite high gloss magazine spreads of late is the cozy cottage of designer Harriet Maxwell Macdonald and Andrew Corrie from the April 2010 issue of House Beautiful. I think what really makes this combination work for this cottage is the addition of the worn grayed woods and the abundance of natural fibers and texture.

Jim and Phoebe Howard designed a New York pied-à-terre on Fifth Avenue in New York after the movie set of Something's Gotta Give. The pink and blue color combination is fresh and modern. They designed it for House Beautiful as part of a larger showhouse project Designer Visions: Cinema Style.

I love the dusty pink lampshades and that fabric on the chairs {duh!}!

Designer Jim Howard uses the pink and blue color combination brilliantly in a Georgia beach house featured in House Beautiful here. The walls are painted an azure blue with two coats of clear high-gloss varnish. Again, I think what makes this work is the rustic texture on the rattan chair and the grayed wood of the ceiling.
